SIS, I Support You!

So over the last couple of months, I had the privilege of helping someone else's vision come to pass. A friend of mine was putting on her first event and asked me to be a part of it. I accepted without hesitation.

This past week on November 12th I was able to see her vision for this conference up close and personal. I got to see everything come to life.

It was such a great conference and lives were impacted, and I was grateful to be a part of it.

You see this wasn't my conference, but I treated it like it was my own. I experienced the same excitement that she experienced, and at the end, I was just so proud of her. I was proud of what was accomplished through her vision.  She heard God and ran with it and because she had a support system she was able to fulfill the conference the way it needed to be.

Life is better when you have people by your side cheering you on, people who would put their hands to work on your behalf. We all should have people there to support us in life. Regardless of what some may think, we need each other. It feels good to know that you have people there to support you.

Support doesn't always have to be giving money or even taking time out of your day to help with things because let’s be realistic; we can’t support everyone we know in that way. Support could simply be someone praying for you, congratulating you, sharing your information, giving you encouraging words, etc.

I love seeing other women supporting one another. We live in a society today where people are always competing with one another. But I believe that we work better together than we do apart. I can get so more done when I have a support system by my side. I can also help my sister get more done by me supporting her.

Our goal should be to lift one another up and not tear each other down. I’m happy for everyone that I know that are doing big things and going after their dreams. And I know a lot of amazing women that are doing amazing things. I will support them in whatever way that God leads me to support.

With that being said, Affirmed’s first event is coming up in April and instead of doing this event on my own, I decided to collaborate with an awesome woman of God. Her ministry is www.robinrogersempowers.com. Please be sure to check her out. I could have chosen to do this event on my own, and she could have too, but with similar stories, why not come together?

It says in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT, “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.”

I am truly grateful that I get to do this first event with someone who shares the same heart in this matter of sexual abuse with me. I know that with the two of us working together we are bound to make an impact. I'm looking forward to watching God move on our behalf.
So remember to support your sister, help a sista out (smile) whenever you can. Philippians 2:4-5 NLT, tells us, “Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus did."

I would also like to add, be Holy Spirit led on how you should support.

Love you, Ladies! Stay Affirmed!
